The Real Danger of Relationship Blindness Isn’t Missed Attribution
It’s not just that you can’t credit the right person. It’s that people can contribute to your business for years while staying invisible to it.
Relationship Blindness is the condition in which a business benefits from trust, advocacy, recognition, and community support without understanding where that value came from or how to protect it. The danger isn’t merely missed attribution. The deeper danger is moral and strategic inattentiveness: people can repeatedly contribute to a business while remaining invisible to the business itself.
Where this stops short
Visibility must not become surveillance. The cure for blindness is responsible attention, not total observation.
What this means in practice
The goal is to notice enough to act responsibly while preserving uncertainty, privacy, and human dignity.
The cure for blindness is responsible attention, not total observation.
