At a glance

Only what’s needed

Sign-in, referral tracking, and security — the essentials to run the Service.

No ads, no tracking

We use no advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies.

You choose

Allow or decline optional functional storage anytime.

Your choice sticks

Your preference is remembered on this device until you change it.

This Cookie Policy explains how PlugVine uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) on our websites and Service, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and local storage are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. “Local storage” is a similar browser mechanism that keeps small pieces of information on your device. Both let a site remember things between page loads — for example, that you’re signed in, or which referral link you arrived from. We refer to all of these as “cookies” in this Policy.

2. The categories we use

We keep this simple because we use very little. We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell data or build advertising profiles.

  • Strictly necessary — required for the Service to function. These keep you signed in, attribute a referral to the right person, and protect against bots and abuse. They can’t be switched off without breaking the Service, so they’re always active.
  • Functional (optional) — remember conveniences and preferences, like a saved pass or a tip you dismissed. You can decline these; nothing breaks — some conveniences just won’t be remembered.

3. What we actually set

Name / typePurposeCategoryDuration
Session cookieKeeps a signed-in business authenticated.Strictly necessarySession / sign-in period
Referral attribution cookieRemembers which pass link a visitor arrived from, so the referral is credited correctly.Strictly necessaryShort-lived
reCAPTCHA (Google)Protects phone verification and forms from bots and abuse.Strictly necessary (security)Set by Google
Local storage (plugvine_*)Remembers interface preferences and conveniences (e.g. a saved pass, a dismissed prompt, your cookie choice).FunctionalUntil you clear it

Some strictly-necessary cookies are set by our infrastructure providers (Google/Firebase for sign-in and security, and Stripe on payment pages) to deliver those features. See our Privacy Policy for who those providers are.

4. Your choices

When you first visit, we show a banner so you can Accept all, choose Essential only, or Customize your choice. You can change your decision at any time:

You can also control cookies through your browser settings — blocking or deleting them — though the Service may not work properly without the strictly-necessary ones. Because we don’t engage in targeted advertising or the “sale” of personal data, there is nothing to opt out of on that front; if that ever changes, we’ll update this Policy and your choices first.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. If we introduce a new category of cookie, we’ll ask for your choice before using it where required.
